Therapy for Walk and Talk

What is Walk and Talk Therapy?

This is a type of intervention that is one of my favorites, and it is exactly what it sounds like, walking and talking while being in the outdoors. If you enjoy being outside, spending time in nature, and going for walks, this is something I would like to offer to you.

How it works

Walk and talk therapy, also known as outdoor therapy or walk therapy, is a form of therapy where sessions take place outdoors while walking. It combines the benefits of physical activity and nature with traditional talk therapy. Clients and therapists walk side by side, discussing issues, thoughts and feelings, often in a relaxed and open environment compared to traditional indoor therapy settings. This approach can be particularly effective for those of you who feel more comfortable, or who may find it easier to open up while being active and surrounded by nature.

Benefits to Walking

There are many benefits to having therapy outside and some of them include:

• Physical health-reduces stress, and boosts your mood through the release of endorphins.

• Mental health-reduces symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress.

• Connection with nature-has a calming effect, which can facilitate emotional exploration and insight during therapy sessions.

• Improved communication skills-helps you to feel more comfortable expressing yourself, which can lead to improved communication and better relationships outside of therapy.
